Mathilde Frances Lind

Mathilde Frances Lind is an environmental folklorist and textile artist currently based in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. Her dissertation, Entangled Wool: Handwork, Heritage, and Ecology in Estonia, was based on nearly four years of research in Eastern Europe, and she earned a PhD in folklore from Indiana University in 2023. Dr. Lind is the 2024-2025 Kenneth R. Trapp Craft Assistant/Curatorial Fellow at the Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts, a regular instructor at the Adirondack Folk School in Lake Luzerne, New York, and the social media editor for Mississippi Folklife.
